A coffee bar with something to say
Umlaut started with a simple idea: a place in Bucharest where the coffee is taken seriously and the room is worth sitting in. Houndstooth chairs, cognac leather, and terrazzo underfoot — the kind of space where an hour passes faster than expected.
By day it runs on single-origin espresso and careful brew methods. When the afternoon softens, the bar opens and the programme shifts. Cocktails built with the same attention as the coffee, alongside a short list of spirits worth exploring.
The name carries its own small joke. Two dots. Like the mark above the vowel, like the two coffee beans in the logo. A brand that takes itself just seriously enough.
